Merry christmas

IMG_0502A very merry Christmas to all! I have officially kicked the college bucket, by the way, which makes this Christmas even more exciting…or terrifying…as I am now entering the real world that everyone has apparently been living in this whole time!

So merry Christmas to all! Eat plenty of dessert and have a glorious day 🙂

Thank you! Your readers and fans wish you a wonderful Christmas, too, and congratulate you on your bucket kicking (and we all hope you were wearing steel-toed tennies when you kicked it)!

As for joining us in the “Real World”: excited AND terrified, indeed! And to those of you who are not, I echo the words of the famed Jedi Master, Yoda, “You will be. You WILL be!”

    But… what IS “real”?
What is the “Real World”? Is it good?
Why do people do what they do? Are they glad they did it?
Is there a person who is at least somewhat aged, that hasn’t said to themselves at least once, “If I’d only known then what I know now…”?

Ponder this, all who will soon embark on a new stage of life: After all these years, shouldn’t we humans have a fairly complete understanding of what is real, true, good, what works and what doesn’t, etc.? Shouldn’t each successive generation become wiser, more understanding, more knowledgeable, having the benefit of learning from a generation who learned more than their predecessors, etc.? WHY has this not happened?

And making it personal: will YOU help it happen, at least to the smallish extent and in teh sphere of influence you can? Will you:
    1) embrace the belief that you believe much that is not true, understand relatively little, and that we are all in this same boat?
    2) make learning what is truly real, one of your highest goals?
    3) seek out those who have, it seems, truly learned, and have communicated well what they’ve learned, and learn from them?
    4) hold ALL things and goals loosely, being willing to give them up as you learn what is real and true, in order to embrace it and LIVE it?
    5) work hard at this UP FRONT, before you become “planted” with roots having grown deep into commitments you cannot break lightly?

I understand that this is really a scary proposition. Truth can be very hard to swallow. It can be harder to live by, and live for. Admitting you were wrong is pride-crushing. Understanding what you’ve truly done can be gut-wrenching. Understanding what others have done to you can be angering. But if you know who you truly are, who God truly is, and are humble like water is wet and loving like sugar is sweet, the joy you will find in learning, growing, and understanding, and then teaching others, will be light years beyond the pain. You will never regret the time spent, and will not have to live in the UNreal world of fantasy in which pursuing your drugs of choice is needed to medicate the pain of living without true understanding.

Hyperbole, drama, and rhetoric, you say? In those enigmatic words of the famed Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, “I don’t think so.”
